SCIA (High School) provides opportunities and platforms for students to develop their leadership skills through a wide variety of co-curricular activities, whilst preparing students to sit for the IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) examination.
SCIA offers a unique blend of the Singapore Secondary Curriculum and Cambridge Lower Secondary Curriculum at Grades 7-8, drawing strengths from both systems to create a curriculum that prepares students to be future-ready. At Grade 10, students will sit for the Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE). Students who meet the criteria will be able to be considered for Cambridge International Certificate in Education (ICE) award.

Rigorous Teaching & Learning infusing 21 st Century Skills (Critical Thinking, Creativity, Communication, Collaboration) leading to IGCSE.
Lessons begin by setting the expectations for the day. By singing songs, sharing experiences, and reviewing materials together, students are mentally prepared for the day ahead.
Every week, students attend assembly where they listen to and watch a presentation by teachers on a range of topics such as empathy, social responsibility, teamwork, integrity, bullying, healthy relationships or self-discipline. Students start each school day with a 15-minute period of silent reading to improve focus and enhance self-discipline; ready for the day's lessons & activities.
Students learn the importance of science through Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
Through different art projects, students develop their sensory awareness, creativity and ability to communicate ideas.
Students take part in a range of physical activities and develop an understanding of effective and safe physical performances that contribute to better health and well-being.
Students are provided with opportunities to develop their individual talents and confidence during concert performances throughout the year.
Students develop social responsibilities by taking part in charitable and service -learning activities in the community.
Exchange programmes are designed to enhance students’ global awareness and develop their leadership skills, so that they are equipped to make a positive impact globally through vast networking.
Students are given opportunities to participate in competitions, locally and globally, fostering a spirit of teamwork and a sense of accomplishment.
Lower Secondary English enables students to communicate confidently and effectively and develop the skills to respond to various information, media and texts with understanding and enjoyment. Students who follow this framework will develop a first language competency in English based on a curriculum designed to be successful in any culture and to promote cross-cultural understanding.
The Lower Secondary Mathematics curriculum framework explores six content areas: number, algebra, geometry, measuring, handling data and problem-solving. The curriculum focuses on principles, patterns, systems, functions and relationships so that students apply their mathematical knowledge and develop a holistic understanding of Mathematics.
The Lower Secondary Science curriculum framework covers four content areas: scientific enquiry, biology, chemistry and physics. Scientific enquiry is about considering ideas, evaluating evidence, planning investigative work, and recording and analysing data. Environmental awareness and some history of science are also part of the curriculum.
